Answer: Your doctor will only be allowed to request blood tests if there is a medical necessity/reason. Even then, the blood test will come off your deductible and you will have to pay for it yourself. So you pay the first €385 (lowest deductible) yourself. Only after that will your health insurance company pay the costs. With us, because it is not a medical necessity but your own choice, there is 21% V.A.T. on the tests.

If you have the blood test requested through another doctor, the results will go to your doctor, not to you yourself.
