infections of the gastrointestinal tract
In this comprehensive stool test, a wide range of pathogens are examined using culture, PCR and microscopic examination. (ST code GPPXCX, a tube of stool with a brown cap is sufficient for the complete test)
The research
The following pathogens are examined by culture in stools:
- Aeromonas sp.
- ESBL → Confirmation via MALDI TOF and VITEK
- Pleisiomonas shigelloides
- Salmonella sp.
- Shigella sp.
- Vibrio sp.
- VRE → confirmation with MALDI TOF, VITEK and PCR
- Yersinia sp. (including Y. enterocolitica)
The following pathogens are examined by antigen detection in our routine:
- Adenoviruses
- Astroviruses
- Campylobacter sp.
- Clostridium difficile confirmation by PCR
- Rotaviruses
The following pathogens are examined by microscopy:
- Cryptosporidium sp.
- Dientamoeba fragilis
- Entamoeba histolytica
- Giardia lamblia
- Worms / worm eggs
The following pathogens are examined in our routine by PCR in stools:
- Noroviruses
Please note Helicobacter Pylori is not part of this study, you will need to order it separately if you have not already done so:
