Roche Covid-19 antibody test cleared disease
This Roche test measures only the N antigen, so only the antibodies you make after a disease Covid-19 went through. (COROK)
Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2-Ak (Nukleokapsid-Protein).
The antibodies you make after a vaccination are not measured with this test.
The antibodies produced by a disease or vaccination can be measured with the Abbott or Euroimmuntest.
About the Roche Covid-19 antibody test
Antibodies Laboratory Elisa test measures antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 Roche Elecsys® Anti-SARS-CoV -2 antibody test with CE mark.
This serological test has a specificity of over 99.8% and a sensitivity of 100% (14 days after PCR confirmation
)The high specificity of the test is crucial to reliably determine if you have been exposed to coronavirus and if you have developed antibodies.
No self-test, blood has to be taken by a professional. We can take care of the blood collection at a blood station or at home (extra costs).

"Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our dedicated colleagues, we are now able to provide a high quality antibody test in large quantities to support healthcare systems around the world with an important tool to better manage the health crisis of COVID-19," said Severin Schwan, CEO Roche Group. "I am especially pleased with the high specificity and sensitivity of our test, which is crucial to support healthcare systems around the world with a reliable tool to better manage the health crisis of COVID-19."
"Our best scientists have worked 24/7 over the past weeks and months to develop a highly reliable antibody test to combat this pandemic," said Thomas Schinecker, CEO Roche Diagnostics. "Roche is committed to helping laboratories deliver fast, accurate and reliable results to healthcare providers and their patients."
Roche's SARS-CoV2 antibody test, which has a specificity of over 99.8% and 100% sensitivity3 (14 days after PCR confirmation), can help assess patients' immune response to the virus. As more is known about immunity to SARS-CoV-2, the test may help assess who has built up immunity to the virus.
With extensive global manufacturing capabilities, Roche can perform many millions of tests per month. Elecsys® Anti-SARS-CoV-2 is an immunoassay for the qualitative invitro detection of antibodies (including IgG) to COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) in blood serum and plasma. Through a blood sample, the test can detect antibodies to the novel coronavirus causing COVID-19, which could indicate whether a person is already infected and may have developed immunity to the virus. Based on the measurement of a total of 5272 samples, the Elecsys® Anti-SARS-CoV-2 assay has a specificity of 99.81% and shows no cross-reactivity with the four human coronaviruses that cause the common cold. This means that the chance of false positives due to the detection of similar antibodies that may be present in an individual is very small. Elecsys® Anti-SARS-CoV-2 has a sensitivity of 100% in detecting antibodies in the 5272 samples taken. For Roche references on this test click here
This test is also performed by our trusted laboratory Dr. Stein & Collegae.
If your result is positive you will see a number greater than 1.1 and the letters positive.
You'll know you have antibodies.
However, you do not know yet which antibodies you have, for this you can continue testing within a few days with one of the EUROIMMUN tests.
In terms of sensitivity specificity always a small chance of false positive but that is always the case with immunoassay
