    Bonusan blood values check thyroid total provides a total picture of thyroid function. The thyroid plays an essential role in the body's metabolism, including antibodies against the thyroid and the TSH receptor.

    This test is performed to detect autoimmune thyroid disease; an abnormality of the thyroid gland caused by a malfunction of the immune system. In addition to TSH, T4 and T3 levels, the test also measures the amount of antibodies against the proteins thyroperoxidase (TPO) and thyreoglobulin (Tg) and against the TSH receptor.

    Blood is tested for:

    • TSH
    • FT4 (Free T4)
    • FT3 (Free T3)
    • Reverse T3 (RT3)
    • Anti TPO (Thyreoid. microsomal al.)
    • Anti Tg (Thyreoglobulin al)
    • TSH receptor (TSH receptor al.)
