    Product Description

    NK cells and T cells

NK - cells, or natural killer cells are measured and disaggregated. (other studies code NKZE ) total immunodiff (EDTA)

Natural Killer cells (NK cells) are an important part of the immune system in tissues and blood. They can detect and break down virus-infected or malignantly transformed cells. To do this, they use special receptor systems. Everyone develops an individual immune response system, which depends on several factors such as age, race, and underlying disease.

    This test is used in:

    - chronic viral diseases
    - Autoimmune diseases
    - Tumor diseases
    - Monitoring of immunomodulatory therapy

    IMMUNOHAEMATOLOGY
lymphocyte subpopulations with their corresponding reference values:

    • B lymphocytes (CD19+)/μl 132 - 422
    • B lymphocyte proportion rel.-% 7.9 - 18.7
    • T lymphocytes (CD3+)/μl 1067 - 1951
    • T lymphocytes (proportion) rel.-% 65.6 - 81.0
    • T-helper cells (CD4+)/μl 645 - 1289
    • CD4+ cells (proportion) rel.-% 38.5 - 55.6
    • T-suppressor cells (CD8+)/μl 263 - 739
    • CD8+ cells (proportion) rel.-% 15.7 - 32.8
    • cytotox. cells (CD56+/CD3+)/μl 10 - 226
    • cytotoxic cells (proportion) % 1.0 - 8.6
    • NK-cells (CD3-/CD16+56+) /μl 118 - 421
    • NK cells (proportion) % 6.6 - 20.1
    • Killer cells, total (proportion) % 7.6 - 28.7
    • Activated T-cells (CD3+/HLA DR)/μl 43 - 270
    • T-cells (CD3+/HLA DR share rel.-% 3.0 - 12.5
    • CD4+/CD8+ quotient 1.1 - 3.5

The result is good if the report states: the quantification of the lymphocyte population does not indicate a cellular immune defect at this time.If the result is abnormal you should contact your doctor or you can request a consultation:

explanation of why this is being measured:

    B lymphocytes (CD19+):

These are a specific type of white blood cells (lymphocytes) involved in antibody production. The reference values indicate what is considered normal.
    B-lymphocyte proportion rel.-%:

This is the percentage of B lymphocytes in the total number of lymphocytes in the blood.
    T lymphocytes (CD3+):

T-lymphocytes are another type of white blood cell that plays an important role in cellular immunity.
    T-lymphocytes (proportion) rel.-%:

This is the percentage of T lymphocytes in the total number of lymphocytes in the blood.
    T-helper cells (CD4+):

T-helper cells play a crucial role in coordinating the immune system and help activate other immune cells.
    CD4+ cells (proportion) rel.-%:

This is the percentage of CD4+ T-suppressor cells in the total number of T lymphocytes.
    T-suppressor cells (CD8+):

T-suppressor cells regulate the immune system and help limit the immune response.
    CD8+ cells (proportion) rel.-%:

This is the percentage of CD8+ T-suppressor cells in the total number of T lymphocytes.
    Cytotoxic cells (CD56+/CD3+):

These are cells capable of destroying other infected or abnormal cells. They are often associated with the natural killer (NK) cell population.
    Cytotoxic cells (proportion) %:

This is the percentage of cytotoxic cells in the total number of lymphocytes.
    NK cells (CD3-/CD16+56+):

Natural killer (NK) cells are a subset of lymphocytes whose function is to recognize and destroy infected cells and cancer cells.
    NK cells (proportion) %:

This is the percentage of NK cells in the total number of lymphocytes.
    Killer cells, total (proportion) %:

This is the total percentage of all cytotoxic cells (CD56+/CD3+ and NK cells) in the blood.
    Activated T cells (CD3+/HLA DR):

These are T cells that are activated and involved in the immune response against specific antigens.
    Activated T cells (CD3+/HLA DR proportion) rel.-%:

This is the percentage of activated T cells in the total number of T lymphocytes.
    CD4+/CD8+ quotient:

This is the ratio of the number of CD4+ T-helper cells to CD8+ T-suppressor cells. This ratio may be important in assessing immune status.

The results of this blood test should be interpreted by a physician to assess immune status and detect any abnormalities or deficiencies. An abnormal result may indicate an immune disorder, infection or other health problems. It is important to discuss the results with a medical professional for an accurate assessment and further action if needed.
